Hagen Rural has natural attractions features which appeal to tourists because of the nature of the landform or the beauty of the landscape in which the attraction is set. Natural attractions include:

Rivers and landforms such as waterfalls and gorges

Mountains
Coastal features

Some natural attractions are free to enter and for some there is an entry charge. It is not possible to charge tourists to visit a mountain, but it may be more feasible to make a charge to visit a cave or waterfall, especially if this is on private land.

Western Highlands Provincial Health Authority began in 1966 as a public Hospital, and today is one of the Provincial Health Authorities serving a population of 472,208 growing at an annual rate of 3.2%. Dedicated to providing high-quality care services valued by all people who access them. It is located in the Highlands of Papa New Guinea in the township of Mount Hagen, Western Highlands Province.

Western Highlands Provincial Government have built better education facilities in the Province. The Governor Funding helps student in Tertiary Institution to pursue their goals. Every Schools in the District receives From Government Tertiary Funds Scheme.

Plants & Wild Life Sanctuary

Home to the the world's largest population of birds of paradise, the rainforest habitat is home to an abundance of wildlife of all sorts.

You may encounter several highland species: Brehm’s tiger-parrots, crested berrypecker, and crested satinbird are all seen in the garden, while brown sicklebill and ribbon-tailed astrapia are sometimes spotted. Blue, King-of-Saxony, and lesser birds of paradise require more dedication but are also possible, as many highland birds that include tit berrypecker, wattle plough bill, blue-capped ifrita, garnet robin, and black-breasted boatbill.

The local economy is based on coffee, which is grown both on large plantations and on small-holdings, where it is picked, dried and processed for export. Tea is another major crop grown in large plantations and processed for local consumption and export. The combination of fertile soil, high rainfall and cooler temperatures is also ideal for the cultivation of vegetables for the domestic market.
